Great for adults, perfect for retirees
Adult table tennis in Maitland
Adult table tennis in Maitland runs three times a week at Maitland Social Table Tennis Club. Our sessions are popular with adults of all ages, and the daytime Monday and Wednesday slots particularly suit retirees, seniors, and anyone with a flexible weekday schedule. No booking, no commitment, just good social play.
A social club built around adult players
Most of our regulars are adults who come for the enjoyment of the game and the company as much as anything else. Sessions have a comfortable, unhurried pace. People play a few games, sit out for a chat, then jump back on when a table frees up.
Skill levels vary widely. Some players have been at it for years. Others are returning after a long break or picking up a bat for the first time in their lives. Everyone gets a game and no one is made to feel out of place.
- Adults and seniors welcome at all sessions
- Relaxed pace with time to rest and socialise between games
- No league, no ladder, no competition pressure
- Bats provided or bring your own
Daytime sessions for seniors and retirees
Monday and Wednesday sessions run from 12:30pm to 2:30pm at Pat Hughes Community Hall, Taylor Avenue, Thornton NSW 2322. These are popular with retirees and older adults who prefer a daytime activity with a regular social group.
The hall is easy to get to from across the Maitland area and has street parking right outside on Taylor Avenue.
Evenings and what it costs
Friday evenings from 6:30pm to 8:30pm draw a broader age mix and work well for adults who are busy during the week. It is also a good session to try first if you are new to the club.
Sessions cost $5 each, paid as you go. There is a $27 annual Table Tennis NSW membership once you decide to keep playing. No upfront cost, no lock-in.
