A friendly table tennis club in Maitland
Maitland Social Table Tennis Club is a welcoming table tennis club for the Maitland area, playing weekly social sessions at Pat Hughes Community Hall in Thornton. We are a relaxed, volunteer-run club for all ages and levels. There is no booking and no need to commit. Just turn up, and we will help you get a game.
What our club is like
We are a social club first. People come along for a hit, a chat, and a bit of friendly competition. You will find a mix of complete beginners, returning players, and a few who have been at it for years. Everyone gets a game.
Bats are provided if you do not have your own, so there is nothing to buy before your first visit. Wear comfortable clothes and flat shoes, and bring a water bottle.

When and where we play
We play at Pat Hughes Community Hall, Taylor Avenue, Thornton NSW 2322, which is an easy drive from across the Maitland area. There is street parking on and around Taylor Avenue.
Sessions run on Monday and Wednesday from 12:30pm to 2:30pm, and on Friday from 6:30pm to 8:30pm. The Friday evening session is the easiest one to start with if you are new.
What it costs to join in
Sessions are $5 each, paid as you go, so you only pay for the sessions you come to. There is also a $27 annual Table Tennis NSW membership, which covers you to play.
That is it. No long contracts and no pressure to commit before you have had a go.

I have not played in years. Is that ok?
Absolutely. Plenty of our players are returning after a long break or starting fresh. The Friday evening session is a relaxed place to ease back in.
