Table tennis in Thornton

If you live in Thornton and want to play table tennis, you do not need to travel far at all. Maitland Social Table Tennis Club is based right here at Pat Hughes Community Hall on Taylor Avenue. We are a relaxed, volunteer-run social club meeting three times a week. Come along, pick up a bat, and you are playing.

Your local table tennis club

There are not many sports where you can just walk in off the street and be playing within minutes. Table tennis is one of them, and that is exactly how we run it. No booking, no orientation session, no waiting list. You turn up, we hand you a bat, and you play.

We are a proper local club. Regulars have been coming for years. New players show up every few weeks and quickly become part of the group. The atmosphere is friendly, the games are competitive only when you want them to be, and everybody gets a hit.

  • Based at Pat Hughes Community Hall, Taylor Avenue, Thornton

Session times

We meet at Pat Hughes Community Hall, Taylor Avenue, Thornton NSW 2322. There is street parking on and around Taylor Avenue.

Monday and Wednesday sessions run from 12:30pm to 2:30pm. Friday evenings run from 6:30pm to 8:30pm. The Friday session is especially good if you are coming for the first time, as it tends to be a relaxed and social crowd.

What it costs

Each session is $5, paid on the day. Once you decide you want to keep playing, there is a $27 annual Table Tennis NSW membership. That covers everything.

You can try your first session and see whether it is for you before committing to anything. Most people who come once come back.
